Warfare – Hussars 2018 2oz Silver Antiqued High Relief Rimless Coin

Price from:   3750 грн

The final release in the Warfare three-coin series features hussars.
The term hussar emerged in Hungary during the 15th century to describe a class of elite, lightly armed horsemen introduced by King Matthias Corvinus. With fast, agile horses, they were invaluable scouts and skirmishers who also provided mobile flanks for heavy cavalry in his powerfully equipped Black Army.
Recognising the value of hussars, other continental armies including those of France, Austria, Prussia and Russia adopted the Hungarian style of light cavalry during the 18th century, while Britain transformed dragoon regiments to hussars during the Napoleonic Wars of 1803 to 1815.
Hussars are known for their dashing and cavalier demeanour, most notably characterised by elaborate, brightly coloured uniforms. Armed with a sabre and firearms, the hussar’s extravagant appearance was completed by a shako - a tall, cylindrical shaped leather cap topped by a feather plume or pompom.

The reverse of the coin portrays Viking warriors launching a raid from their longships. Charging maniacally through the water, each one is seen roaring fearsomely to terrify their victims. The reverse design also includes The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The obverse of the coin portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination and the 2018 year-date.

To capture the depth and detail of the design, the coin is struck in high relief to a rimless format, and has been individually ‘antiqued’ to give it a unique finish conveying the surface abrasions of an ancient artefact. As a result of this treatment the appearance of each coin may vary.

Each coin is presented in a classic grey display case, within an illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

The coin is accompanied by an immersive 360˚ panoramic illustration of the battle represented on the coin. The image can be automatically viewed on any smartphone by tapping the phone against the NFC chip embedded in the certificate, then placing the phone in 3D VR goggles.

The series consists of the releases:
          Warfare – Roman Legioner*
          Warfare – Vikings
          Warfare – Hussars

*Only the first coin in the series comes with free 3D goggles, after this the goggles are not available for purchase with coins.
