Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos of Zarvanitsya Silver Coin

The coin is dedicated to the icon of the Zarvanitsya Mother of God, designed to commemorate numerous miracles which had been made due to her intercession.

The coin which is a faithful replica of the one of the oldest icons of the Mother of God in Ukraine shall complete any sophisticated collection.

The revelation of the Mother of God of Zarvanitsya took place in 1240, when she showed up to a sleeping monk. In the same place appeared an icon, which, as it turned out, had the power to perform miracles and soon it became worshipped by the faithful.

Reverse:
The reverse depicts a multi-coloured replica of the icon of Zarvanitsya Mother of God. On the both sides of the icon – figures of Saints. Along the rim – Eastern-Christian motifs. In each corner of the coin there is embedded with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS decoration.

Obverse:
In the central part of the coin – a sanctuary in Zarvanitsya, where the icon is housed. Above – the name of Zarvanitsya in Ukrainian: ЗАРВАНИЦЯ. At the bottom – a profile effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and inscriptions: ELIZABETH II, NIUE ISLAND. Around – the Eastern-Christian motifs. Along the rim – inscriptions: Ag 999 (the hallmark), 1 dollar (the face value), m/w (the mint mark) and 1oz (the weight).
