Chinese Calendar ~ Silver Coin in Frame Case
The “Chinese Calendar” is a series of silver collector coins devoted to defining of separate years by the Chinese. This calendar consists of 60-year cycles which constitute a combination of 12 years – Earthly Branches represented by 12 animals and five Heavenly Stems represented by five elements: water, earth, wood, fire and metal – ying and yang in each version. The 12-year cycle repeats itself five times because each time the year of the given animal appears under the sign of another element. According to the Chinese Calendar the following years exist: the year of pig, rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, dog, monkey and rooster.
